Sorting, while it looks almost effortless, this basic skill helps little kids to develop the skills to identify similarities or differences between objects. And why is this important?
For example, if you show big letter A with Arial normal font, and big letter A with Arial italic font, (A vs A) : your little learners can deduce that it is the same letter.
Sorting skills also help little kids to identify the characteristics of objects and compare them. In a nutshell, it’s a basic skill to be able to thrive when they begin to learn alphabet and numbers later on.
Since Halloween season is near, it’d be much more fun to do sorting with Halloween things, right?

Let’s take a look at the sorting activities included.
#1: Sort by Size
This activity is perfect to teach the vocabulary BIG, Medium and small; and to practice the skill to solve a situation – at one glance they will know which is what size.
The first set is to sort the Halloween cuties by TWO sizes: either BIG, or small.

The second set is to sort the Halloween by THREE sizes: BIG, medium, and small.

#2: Sort by Color
Halloween is not all gloomy and dark, there are some fun colors too – such as orange, green, and yellow.
In this part, your kids will get to sort Halloween cuties by color.
Each mat is represented by a candy, and they also have the color name! For example, on the mat with orange candy, we write “Orange”.
Some kids love to write everything they see – and this is to help these kids to identify colors and write the color names.
