Looking for LOW PREP & engaging Pumpkin fine motor activities that can cover your lesson plan for one whole month?
October is just around the corner, and you’re feeling that familiar teacher panic. Halloween excitement is building, attention spans are shrinking, and you need lesson plans that actually WORK – not just busy work that barely gets you through the day.
What if I told you that you could turn your biggest challenge into your greatest teaching success?
Introducing our 100+ page Pumpkin fine motor activities packet – ready to turn that seasonal excitement into meaningful learning.

Let me share some sneak peeks at the activities.
PART 1: Pumpkin Science Center
Science sounds too fancy, don’t you think so?
It’s simple, actually; it’s just introducing the details of pumpkins to feed your kid’s curiosity.
In this Pumpkin fine motor activities packet, you’ll get 3 Pumpkin science activities.
Science Activity #1: Pumpkin Life Cycle
This activity is to introduce the life cycle of a pumpkin from a tiny seed to a yummy pumpkin.
Among the activities are:
- Trace the words
- Cut and paste the missing picture in the life cycle chart
- Cut and paste the matching shadow

Science Activity #2: Parts of a Pumpkin
I’d suggest that you get a slice of pumpkin and introduce the names of the parts of the pumpkin.
And to wrap up, your kids get to trace the label of the pumpkin, and draw some seeds in the pumpkin.
You can also color the Black-and-White pages.
Science Activity #3: Carving Sequence
Have fun tracing the words and pasting the pictures to complete the carving sequence.
PART 2: Pumpkin Fine Motor Activities
This part has the most activities in the packet, and most of the activities focus on practicing scissors cutting and glue pasting skills (hand-eye coordination skills).

Let’s take a look at some of the fine motor skills pages.
Fine Motor #1: Scissors Cutting Printables
We start with practicing scissors cutting.
First, we cut small boxes of pumpkin donuts, pumpkin pies, and everything pumpkin.
Next, we cut long lines, shapes, and cut pictures – cutting along long curvy lines

Fine Motor #2: Solve 2-Piece Puzzle
This time, we’re going to practice scissors cutting skills while solving a simple 2-piece puzzle.
I’ve already scrambled the puzzle pieces for your little ones. Let your kids cut the puzzle pieces and solve them independently.

For little kids like mine, being able to solve puzzles by themselves is a massive achievement.
Fine Motor #3: Picture Matching
Picture matching activity helps with visual discrimination. For my kids, as long as the images are cute, they’ll sit down and solve this activity.
And so I have adorable images sprinkled in.

Fine Motor #4: Shadow Matching
A twist from picture matching is the shadow matching activity.
It’s a bit tricky to guess which picture belongs to which shadows. But let your little one try, they’re going to love it.

Fine Motor #5: Pattern AB
It’s time for pattern activities, a simple AB pattern cut-and-paste activity.
This Pumpkin fine motor activities packet includes TWO options of AB pattern activities :
- Copy the AB pattern (cut, sort, and copy-paste the AB pattern)
- Complete the AB pattern (cut, sort, and complete the AB pattern)

Sorting by Categories
In this part, we’ll categorize things – sort them by size, type, color, shape, and emotion – all with a pumpkin theme.

Let’s take a look!
Sorting #1: Sort by Size
This activity is perfect to introduce the concept of size: BIG, Medium, and small.
Let your kids cut the pictures and sort them into the corresponding column.

Sorting #2: Sort by Emotions
Also great for Social Emotional Learning; let’s have fun learning the emotion words.
Your kids will love to sort all the pumpkin faces.

Sorting #3: Sort by Color
Pumpkins come in many colors. There are orange, green, yellow, and blue pumpkins.
Let’s sort them by their colors.

Sorting #4: Sort by Types
Have fun sorting the pumpkin donuts, drinks, and more.

Sorting #5: Sort by Shapes
This activity helps young learners to identify simple shapes.
The simplest activity is to cut the shapes and try to fit them onto the pumpkin or the pumpkin pie.

PART 3: Math & Literacy
In this part, we’ll be reviewing the numbers 1 to 10, and the letters A to Z, while also cutting and pasting things.
Pumpkin Math
The activities included are perfect for beginners who are just starting to learn numbers and counting.

Among the activities included are:
- Number recognition – Cut the pumpkins with numbers on them, and paste them onto the matching numbers
- Color by number – Color the pumpkins by the numbers 1 to 3
- Counting to 10 – Count the pumpkins and color the corresponding numbers
