100+ Pages of Cute Farm Animals Worksheet Activities for Fun Farm Book Companion
Looking for farm animals worksheet for your book companion? Or to complement your farm field trip?
Among the first animals that my kids love to read about are the farm animals.
Farm animals make the easiest sounds, such as ‘moo’ by the cows, ‘baa’ by the sheep, ‘neigh’ by the horse, and more. So reading farm animal books is much easier when all you have to do is to make the farm animals’ sounds.
If you’re reading the Old MacDonald books to your kids or other Farm-themed books, and looking for complementary activities, our Farm Animals worksheet activity packet would be the perfect book companion for you.

Let me share a sneak peek at the activities.
PART 1: FINE MOTOR CUTTING
First, we practice scissors cutting skills.
Cutting Activity #1 : Scissors Cutting Pages
Your little learners will get to practice cutting boxes – cut along the lines, cutting long lines, and cutting along curvy lines to cut the image.

Cutting Activity #2 : Solve the 2-Piece Puzzles
Next, we will be doing cutting and solving simple puzzles.

There are simple 2 sets of puzzles per page, and there are 4 sets of puzzles per page.
Cutting Activity #3 : Picture Matching
This activity is simple – just cut the pictures and paste to the matching pictures.

This activity is very simple – but helps with visual discrimination, cutting and pasting skills.
Cutting Activity #4 : Shadow Matching
Shadow matching is a bit tricky compared to picture matching activities. But don’t worry, little kids are sharp observers.

Guess whose shadow is that?
Cutting Activity #5 : Pattern AB
There are TWO pattern activities included in this Farm Animals worksheet packet:
- For beginners : Cut and copy the pattern – Simply cut the farm animals and paste-copy the AB patterns
- A bit more advance : Cut and complete the AB pattern – Guess what comes next in the pattern and paste accordingly

PART 2: FINE MOTOR SORTING
Sorting is fun. Your kids can already sort. For example sorting candies according to colors, or sorting cookies according to BIG and small.
In this part, we will be doing cut-sort-paste.
Sorting #1 : Sort by Size
Let’s sort the farm animals by size.
The columns have hints, which are for the big items and which are for the small items.

Sorting #2 : Sort by Type
Let’s have fun sorting the farm animals to their type.
You can tell your kids to group the animals with their friends. For example, the rabbit has other rabbit friends that are brown rabbit, white rabbit, and grey rabbit.

Sorting #3 : Sort by Color
In this activity, you’ll get to chat about the name of colors while helping your kids sort the farm animals by their colors.

Sorting by colors in this packet include sorting by the color black, pink, grey, white, and brown.
Sorting #4 : Sort by Shapes
Your kids don’t have to know the name of the shapes yet.
Just cut the shapes and sort them correspondingly.

Use this activity to introduce the name of simple shapes such as circles, triangles, and square.
PART 3: NUMBER ACTIVITIES
There are several simple number activities for your Farm lover kids
Let’s take a peek.
Number Activity #1: Circle the Odd Ones
Find the odd ones, and circle them.
This activity helps little learners to identify characteristics of images – whether they are similar or different with each other.
And this is one of the foundation to numbers and letters recognition.

Number Activity #2: Greater Than, Less Than
Comparing quantity is much easier to teach compared to teach counting, because visually, little kids can easily see which group has more. It’s similar to when they are comparing between siblings : who has more cookies than me!
In this activity, teach your kids that the gator will open its mouth to the group that has more animals.

Number Activity #3: Number Matching
Now it’s time to meet the numbers. We are going to cut and match the numbers 1 to 10.

PART 4: LETTER ACTIVITIES
There are also several simple letter activities included in this Farm Animals worksheet activity packet – and of course they include cut and paste activities.
Let’s take a peek.
Letter Activity #1: Cut and Paste
In this activity, simply cut all the letters and paste on the farm animals.
Cut the letter “g” and paste them on the goose – while introducing the sound of the letter “g” is “ggg”

Letter Activity #2: Sort the Letter
This activity is about sorting the uppercase and lowercase letters accordingly.
For example, for the letter D and the letter d, there are two different ducks. Paste the letter D and letter d on the corresponding ducks.

Letter Activity #3: Letter Matching
Let’s meet more letters.
This time we are going to cut and match the letters.

From fine motor skills, to number and letter activities, this activity packet got it all for you.
