Letter I Worksheets Printables

Little kids learn easily with things that are relatable to their daily life.

Activity #1: Cut and Paste the Pictures

For example, in this cut and paste Letter I printables, your little ones is going to learn that each of the pictures on the worksheets starts with letter I.

The way I introduced it is, for example, “Look at this (pointing at an iguana picture). This is an iguana, /ee/ /ee/ /ee/. Iguana begins with the letter I.”

“Let’s cut the iguana and paste it into the letter I”

Or show all the pictures to your little ones and say the name of the picture one by one.

But the trick with letter I is, it has 2 sounds.

‘ee’ for iguana and igloo.

‘ay’ for ice cream and ice skate.

I’d let my kids know that this letter has 2 sounds. But let’s do this activity first for us to get to know about the letter I.

Activity #2: Letter Tracing

Letter I looks like number 1.

It has 2 versions; the uppercase and lowercase letters.

Usually I’ll tell my kids that the uppercase letter is the ‘mommy letter’ and the lowercase letter is the ‘baby letter’.

But for a start, I didn’t teach when or where to use both letters. Let’s just have fun learning the faces of letter Ii.

Activity #3: Cut and Paste the Letters

Letters can look very different either on cereal boxes, or in different storybooks.

This activity will help your little ones recognize the many faces of letter ‘I’.

Activity #4: Letter I Hunt

Letter Hunt is to help your young learners to identify the letters in their favorite storybooks.

In this practice, your kids will definitely love to hunt and circle for the letter of the day.
