This activity helps your kids to identify similar objects and classify them. The activities included are picture matching, shape matching, and dot activities.
My toddler loves this part of the activity! She’s one of the reasons why I created this resource.
If your kids are practicing their scissor cutting and pasting skills, these activities are the best for them.
It’s simple yet perfect for fine motor practice.
#1: Picture Matching Cut and Paste
Have your kids cut the school supplies pictures, then paste them on the corresponding matching picture.
This works well with toddlers aged 3-5. Your older kids will love this too!
#2: Shape Matching Cut and Paste
Cut the shapes, and paste them into the corresponding glue and books.
This activity is similar to sorting toy activities. Still, your kids will love this because they’ll get to play with the scissors and glue!
#3: Dot Activities
This activity is about dotting in the dots. You can use the dot markers, or dot stickers, or simply just color in the dots of the adorable school supplies.
Back to School Sorting Activities
There are lots of sorting activities in this packet. This includes sorting by color, size, emotions, and type.
#1: Sorting by Color
Let’s sort the school supplies by their colors!
These columns have text with colors. One column is for ‘purple’ school things, the other is for ‘yellow’.
The color hint on the columns makes it easier for your kids to do the activity independently. They’ll be able to guess what each column is for.
#2: Sorting by Size
Your toddlers will surely love this activity; sort the school supplies according to their sizes.
There are 2 options of sorting columns. The first has only 2 sizes – ‘big’ and ‘small’ column; perfect for your little toddlers.
For a bit challenging sorting, there’s also a sorting printable with 3 sizes- ‘big’, ‘medium’ and ‘small’ column.
#3: Sorting by Type
This activity is about sorting the scissors and glue accordingly.
#4: Sorting by Emotions
Let’s have fun talking about the different emotions while having to go back to school with this adorable emotion sorting activity!
Just cut the crayons and school bus faces and sort them accordingly.
Back to School Theme Math Skill Activities
If your kids don’t know how to count their numbers yet, the math activities in this packet are perfect for them.
