Fun 90+ Page Gingerbread Fine Motor Activities for Your Gingerbread Center
Gingerbread centers are always a hit with preschoolers! The challenge? Finding the time to create engaging, hands-on activities that actually develop those crucial fine motor skills.
If you need ready-to-go Gingerbread fine motor activities that keep your students engaged while building essential skills, you’re in the right place.
Introducing: Gingerbread Fine Motor packet!

Let’s take a peek at all the centers you’ll be using throughout the month.
Center #1: Scissors Cutting Practice
Perfect for developing those scissor skills! Kids will trace the dotted lines, then cut along them.

Differentiation tip:
- Start with cutting the small boxes since their lines are the shortest.
- Then progress to the long horizontal and vertical lines.
- For your advanced learners, challenge them with cutting the shapes and curvy lines around the gingerbread images.
Center #2: Matching Activities
This center includes four different types of matching activities to keep things fresh:
Matching #1: 2-Piece Puzzles
Have your kids cut out the scrambled puzzle pieces, then solve the puzzles by piecing them together.

Matching #2: Picture Matching
Let your kids cut the gingerbread pictures, then sort and paste them to their matching pairs.

Matching #3: Shadow Matching
This one’s a bit trickier than picture matching, but way more fun because of the challenge!

Kids cut the pictures and paste them onto their matching shadows. Guide them to look closely at the details before deciding which picture matches which shadow.
Matching #4: Shape Matching
Have your kids cut along the shapes, then paste them on the matching shape outlines on the gingerbread characters and houses.

Center #3: Sorting Activities
Time to practice those critical thinking and sorting skills!
Sorting #1: Sort by Size
This is the most basic sorting activity. Kids compare the size of the pictures and paste them in the corresponding “big” or “small” column.

Sorting #2: Sort by Type
Sort the gingerbread cookies by their type. Are they gingerbread boys, gingerbread girls, or gingerbread houses?

Sorting #3: Sort by Color
Cut the candy canes and lollipops, then sort them by their colors.

Center #4: Pattern Cut and Paste
Introduce your little learners to AB patterns with this center.

Start with the “Copy the AB Pattern” activity to teach the concept.
Then test their understanding with “Complete the AB Pattern” activities where they cut and paste what comes next in the sequence.
Center #5: Dot Art Activities
Print the dot pages and choose how you want your students to complete them:

- Dot markers (quickest option!)
- Dot stickers (fancy or plain will do)
- Bingo daubers or chips
- Q-tip painting (if you’re up for some messy play and have time to laminate and prep paint)
- Coloring activity (use the dots as a guide for coloring with crayons or colored pencils)
Center #6: Letter Recognition
Letter Sorting
Kids cut out gingerbread-themed pictures with letters on them, then sort and paste them onto the matching letters on the sorting mats.

Center #7: Math Activities
Activity #1: Number Sorting
Cut the numbered gingerbread pictures and paste them onto the corresponding numbers.

Activity #2: Greater Than, Less Than
Introduce inequality concepts using the “alligator” method! Kids cut out the gator symbols and paste them between quantities to show which is greater or less.
